Step On How To Install ROM Updates Via SD Card Or Recovery

Just like i recently posted on how to easily unroot your android phone, i am here today to teach you on how Custom or Stock ROMs can be installed directly of your phone without the use of SP Flashtool on PC. It simply require patient and simple know-how instructions. If you find SP flash method really cumbersome or don’t have access to a PC, worry less…you can can comfortably install ROM updates via SD card or Recovery Mode directly on your Android phone.

This DIY steps will guide you on how to go about installing updates manually on your mobile phones without experiencing any form of quirk.

How To Install ROM Update Via SD Card Or Recovery

You can install update automatically via the system update option on your device, but the other way round which is…downloading the OTA package manually and using either TCard method or Recovery method to flash/install updates.

I will focus on teaching you the manual way which means you will need to do the below…

• Download the relevant OTA package or TCard package,
• Extract it and place the ‘update.zip’ to the root of your SD Card (if already extracted, rename it as ‘update.zip’) ,

Then, Perform Method 1 or Method 2.

Method 1 (Via TCard Method):

• Settings » About phone » System update » Options » Update from local » Select ‘update.zip’ and install it
• At this point you need to do nothing. The update / upgrade process will begin.
• Wait until the installation is complete so that the device would be rebooted.

Method 2 (Via Recovery Method):

• Turn off your Infinix Smartphone (and boot to recovery mode)
• Switch off your phone.
• Press and hold volume up button + power button
• If you see Android bot with a danger sign
• Press and hold power button again and press volume up button once
• Up / Down button to select ‘Apply update from SD card’
• Scroll to where the ‘update.zip’ file is located and select with the Power Button
• At this point you need to do nothing. The update / upgrade process will begin.
• Wait until the installation is complete so that the device would be rebooted.
