How to use host file to block ads and websites on your android phone

It is a common trend now on most android phone that there are to many websites we do like to visit, but there are some that we would like to block entirely from our device. 

Well, I have come today to share with you an effective way of blocking or allowing any website even ads on your phone.  It can be done through a little tweak of the host file in the root folder of your phone. This method only works for a rooted device

Procedure to follow: 

1. Download  Es explorer apk to access your root folder

2. Access the host file of your android phone by going to system/etc/hosts

3. Once you are in the host file which is viewed as a text file.. Click edit

4. You should find some like  127.0.0.1 localhost in the host file because that is the default IP for any device

5. Now to the main part, all you have to do now is to change the localhost to the url or website that you want to block entirely on your android phone

Example like If you want to block google.com,  just change your host file to 127.0.0.1  google.com.  You can repeat the process if you want to block multiple websites by just adding the same IP to the next line of the file and changing the URL you want to block like this:

127.0.0.1  facebook.com
127.0.0.1 google.com
127.0.0.1  kiki.com

Just like that..

The same thing can be done if you want to block ads on your phone, once you can identify the URL of the ad, you can easily block it from ever showing up on your android phone. .
